This month's theme · Buidling through/with/against exhaustion
Contribute
The Radical Commons is now accepting submissions for the inaugural issue of Radical Dispatches. Our first theme is exhaustion and what people build inside of it. Not resilience. Not triumph. The unglamorous, inconsistent, costly work of continuing.
process - we welcome essays, dispatches, poems, short fiction, visual essays, and image-text work. submissions in Arabic, French, Spanish, and English are all welcome, translated work encouraged, with a translator's note. Word count: 800–3,500 words. Visual submissions: query us first. The deadline is May 30.
We are not looking for work that resolves the contradiction. We want writing and art that refuses easy hope without collapsing into despair — that thinks structurally about why people are depleted, that comes from somewhere specific: a place, a body, a political formation. Who taught you to keep going, and at what cost to them? What does solidarity look like when everyone is exhausted? What gets built anyway?
